David J. Harris Jr. may be right that the Balenciaga scandal is beginning to unearth something truly hideously evil.

(aka Astral Phoenix on Twitter). Francois-Henri Pinault’s Christie’s art auction may have far more significance than we ever expected. He points out that Pinault’s Group Artemis is involved in the two businesses rife with money laundering: wine and art. The reason for this is wine and art both tend to have their value appreciate over time and their worth is subjective. Christie’s has been represented by the Podesta Group in Washington, D.C. What’s more, Jeffrey Epstein spend hundreds of millions buying art at art auctions with the big names he attended being Sotheby’s and Christie’s. After Epstein’s death his connection to these art auctions was later investigated. So that raises the question, was Christie’s art purchases used to launder money for sex trafficking? I encourage everyone to read the full twitter thread. https://archive.ph/1GeHO (Archived link in case Twitter nukes his profile like it did @Curioslight.)It is an incredible theory and would make a lot of sense. I looked into Christie’s and they recently started selling NFTs as well. Even the average person off the street generally knows that NFTs are worthless and that they are easy tools for money laundering. So, right off the bat, that appears extremely suspicious. One such NFT they auctioned off this way was the infamous Piss Christ (a crucifix with an image of Jesus placed in human urine). I may not like Piss Christ but I think it has way more claim to be actual art than does the Chapman brothers mannequins. But, still, I can’t imagine anyone buying this for the actual image when you could easily get a free jpeg of it. I just don’t think anyone is that stupid to actually fall for this garbage. https://www.christianpost.com/news/christies-auctions-off-piss-christ-nft.html

I also found that Victor Pinchuk is selling his artwork Jeff Koon’s Balloon Monkey (Magenta) to benefit Ukraine (is that sort of the way FTX “benefitted” Ukraine?) and that it is expected to sell for 6 to 10 million. Yes, what is being sold is a statue of literal balloon monkey. However, Koon’s Balloon Monkey (Orange) oversold for up to 25 million. While, obviously, I hope the wealthy are just stupid with their money and not actually malicious I think we would be fools to accept all this completely absurdly priced art at face value. https://news.artnet.com/market/victor-pinchuk-jeff-koons-christies-sale-2126587
To be fair, Christie’s has anti-money laundering measures in place when they are not legally required to have them. But even CNN called them “lax” and “easily circumvented.” Granted CNN probably only ever admitted that to try to stick it to Russian oligarchs big into art. However, now Christie’s has to contend with the fact that they have angered many people with the morally heinous pederastic Chapman art. Do they really want people asking if their art sales are sometimes used to facilitate the sale of children and teens? If they have nothing to hide, I recommend they get in front of this issue and beef up their anti-money laundering safeguards and even talk with their worst critics so that they know how seriously they take the matter. But I can’t see it happening.
